I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now that Turkey Day is over, it's officially on to Homelife Holiday Happenings!
As explained at last week's meeting, Homelife has decided to support the Shelter Our Sisters (S.O.S.) annual holiday gift wrapping fundraiser this year. For this fundraiser, Shelter our Sisters coordinates the establishment of gift-wrapping stations at local merchants who are willing to participate in this event, and asks local volunteer organizations to staff a location for a day. Volunteers simply need to show up at their assigned times and wrap gifts for the happy holiday shoppers! All donations received from the gift wrapping services will benefit Shelter our Sisters.
The Allendale Woman's Club has officially adopted the wrapping station at Chef Central (Route 17 North) on Monday, December 3. Many thanks to all of you that have already agreed to help out at this event -- the official sign-up sheet from last week's meeting is attached for your information. For those of you that have not signed up yet, there are 2 slots still available! (1 - 2PM & 7-8 PM) If you are interested in either of these times, please let me know as soon as possible.
On the day of the event please try to stay at the wrapping station until the next wrapping team arrives at the store. If there are any problems at all (something comes up and you can't make it to Chef Central, etc), please call me on my cell phone. |
